Painting Over Mosaic Tile Backsplash

Painting over mosaic tile backsplash. Use a high quality primer to prime your tile backsplash. Apply as many coats as needed i did 3 coats with 4 coats in some areas. Hold the brush perpendicular to the side of the tile and stroke down and in toward the center. Now this to avoid tearing out the tile but can look really good in your favorite color.
Repeat for each side then stroke. Cover the countertops with paper for. Remove all sanding dust with a tack cloth. If the mosaic is sealed so that it doesnt get damaged then you can rough up the sealer with soft steel wool.
Instructions clean the backsplash tile with tsp or other degreasing cleaner. Apply a good coat of primer using a paint brush for all the grout lines and any decals in the tile. Just like with cabinetry you want to give your paint the best surface possible to adhere to. Then use a chalk paint to cover all the mosaic.
Use an angled brush to carefully paint the edges of each tile. How to paint a tile backsplash wipe down the tile backsplash with your favorite cleaner. First cover any surfaces you want to protect with a drop cloth and then use a medium grade sandpaper to lightly sand the tile to remove any loose grout or buildup. Sand the backsplash tile with 80 grit sandpaper to rough up the surface.
Using a small roller apply the primer to the entire ceramic tile surface of the backsplash. Brush on two coats of paint allowing sufficient drying time between follow the manufacturers instructions. First use a brush to trim out tight spaces and corners and then finish with a roller. Depending on the color and texture of existing back splash a second coat of primer might be needed.
Use painters tape to protect the wall and countertop from paint. This will also paint over the grouting but that will look handcrafted. It will probably take two coats.
