Painting Brown Window Frames White

If youre planning on painting the entire window frame white then you dont need to section off the rest of the frame from the sill.

The window frames are all upvc a sort of reddish brown mahogany colour and i would like to paint them in a colour as close as possible to tanners brown or complementary to it. Apply paint to the frame then the opening casements. Make sure you allow each coat of paint to dry before you apply the next. You will need to coat your window frames with a specific type of primer that will abrade the surface to enhance adhesion capabilities.

Nine times out of ten the time taken to re paint a window frame is down to the condition of the existing paintworkif its in good order then a simple re coat will usually suffice however if the paint is old flaky and discoloured then it will need to be removed the frame sanded back and then fresh paint applied to produce a decent finish.
