Caulk Tape Painting


Ive used scotchblue painters tape before but i can honestly tell you that the new edge lock technology is a big improvement.

Caulk tape painting. Make sure the tape is straight and use long sections of tape not short pieces. It seals well but comes off much easier than regular masking tape does. Allow the caulk to partially dry and pull away the tape. Allow adequate curing time read the label instructions before you paint.

Apply the tape as straight as posssible along side of the crack both sides if neither surface is to be painted. The joint will look best if you tape to create a fairly thin joint about 14 inch in total width.

Tape the edges but also apply a line of paintable caulk into the edge of the tape. Use a wet fingertip to fill very small holes and smooth the caulk. Then smooth the caulk with a moist finger removing the excess from over the crack and tape.
